YEARS OF STUDY: 2009-2010 • OCCUPATION: Pursuing masters in economics

The time I spent in Mrs. Sawhney's classes, fondly referring to her as 'Aunty', was beyond enriching, to say the least. If there's one person I could thank for helping me purge away my fear of Math, building my love for the subject, it would be her. 5 years post my classes with her, I still find the subject enthralling. However, one of the best things about her classes would be the addition of a personal touch. She would make one feel at home, never reprimanding if a question was hard to understand. She would always encourage further questioning, condescending her students only when they refused to do her homework. After all, she was (and still is) a very hardworking teacher, recognised the needs of each child and taught accordingly. I still look up to her as my mentor, my guide.
